Tower Construction Manager

TRM is a high-growth convergent infrastructure & services company is looking for a Construction & Field Crew Manager for Tower opportunities in the Northeast. We continue to expand our team of well-respected individuals that are interested in contributing their skills and vision to our team-oriented organization. Experience with the installation and testing of tower network infrastructure components and team leadership are required. The selected individual would work with an existing team of project managers and technicians to provide services to clients in the Eastern United States.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Manage all assigned Tower projects from bid walks to closeouts.
  • Interface with Program Manager to develop technical approach.
  • Organize and attend bid walks, negotiate with and direct subcontractors
  • Provide bids, kitting lists, updated trackers to client as needed
  • Ability to source and qualify subcontractor resources in varied locations.
  • Prepare / answer RFIs, Field Change Notices, and Field Work Orders.
  • Develop heavy lift plans, select cranes and rigging for lifts.
  • Obtain local permits and construction licenses.
  • Schedule and manage crews, subcontractors and materials for delivery
  • Ensure that assigned workflow is being achieved and that tasks and milestones are being reached on time or ahead of schedule

  • Ensure safety and quality control requirements at all sites and with all crews and subs
  • Assure field work is compliant with federal, state and local codes and standards.
  • Onsite supervision to monitor progress, conduct inspection of the field work, perform walk downs, develop punch lists and mark up drawings to reflect as-built conditions; is required.
  • Work closely with TRM’s personnel and clients to develop a successful team atmosphere
  • Ensure all site-specific closeout documentation is complete, professional and submitted timely
  • Provide leadership, guidance and actively train/promote learning to all your personnel
  • Assist with closeout paperwork preparation and submission to client.
  • This position will require travel and extended stays at site locations. Approximately 50% of the time.

Required Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, the selected individual must be able to perform each the requirements listed below, which are representative but not a complete list, of the abilities, skills and knowledge required:

Technical Skills/ Knowledge:

  • Ability to read blue prints and Visio & iBwave drawings and perform site surveys
  • Ability to read and understand project schedules, experience with MS Project is a plus.
  • Thorough understanding of CAT 5/ Fiber/ Coax (1/2″+) installation, including sweep testing of coax & fiber.
  • RCDD, PMP, CWNP and/or Vendor OEM certifications are a plus
  • Has in-depth knowledge of construction engineering work processes.
  • Must be capable of construction planning, execution and cost control.
  • Must be capable of developing effective technical solutions to the field problems.
  • Requires strong anticipation and communication skills
  • Job requires extended period field assignment, work in outside field environment, frequent walking and climbing required to perform the job activities.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
